The Garden is a campus of Raleigh Rescue Mission located at 1820 Uplift Ave. in Knightdale. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual has sacred value. We equip people to impact the world for good through the love of Jesus Christ.
This campus serves women and women with children, including an on-site day so mothers can focus on their lives while knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment. If you need help, please call us 919-867-6238.
The New Life Plan has six distinct Phases, each building upon the previous. It addresses the needs of clients who are experiencing homelessness by providing for basic needs such as food, clothing, hygiene, and access to healthcare – and then moving through a series of programs that include access to counseling, parenting classes, vocational training, obtaining a car to widen employment options, and then gaining employment and moving into their own apartment or home.
The New Life Plan charts a clear path and provides the resources along the way so that our clients make lasting changes that will lead to the ability to be self-sufficient. Each Phase is clearly explained and serves as a guide for clients, service providers, partner organizations, staff and volunteers.
The New Life Plan also provides for the needs of the children in our care. You can read more about our Children’s Advocacy.
“Raleigh Rescue Mission provided me with a lifeline when I had nowhere else to turn. After facing a series of unfortunate events, including losing my business and becoming homeless, I found myself at rock bottom. But through their program, I found stability and hope. The phased approach gave me something to look forward to and served as a goal to strive towards. It’s been around for 60 years, and if they could help someone like me, they’re definitely doing something right.”

“Our company’s reputation really is one that gives back to the community. And we do that because we want Raleigh to be better. I mean, it’s where our business is. It’s where our family is. It’s where we call home. And we don’t want to just count on everybody else to try and do it for us. We want to be investing back in our community so that it will be a great place for my kids to run a business and to raise a family and be here for another couple hundred years.”

Women and children have increasingly become the faces of situational homelessness in our community. As the Mission began to see more women experiencing situational homelessness walk through their doors, especially those with small children, they knew it was time to do something more.
