Tim had his doubts about being at the Mission at first. Now, he says the Mission has been “the perfect place to get my life back together. I’ve started Jobs for Life and I’m excited about the next steps. I’m figuring out my purpose.” Young Preston is excelling in school and loves sports. He’s planning to attend college at NC State.
When asked how his relationship with Preston has changed, Tim is thoughtful. “Raleigh Rescue Mission has given me a second chance to be a good parent, a good citizen. I didn’t have the time to know Preston before. I’ve gotten the right tools to be with him, to understand what he needs, how to deal with his emotions. I see things from a whole different perspective from the life that I once lived to the man I am today.”
