Serving Others During a Pandemic – A Local Photographer’s Fundraiser

June 25, 2020

Cassie Lowry says she didn’t want to sit around and do nothing during the COVID-19 crisis. Describing herself unabashedly as “A Christian who Loves Jesus,” she knew she needed to serve God in some way. “I love making relationships with lots of new people,” exclaims Cassie. “I saw something on Facebook about social distance photography and I knew that was my way to help.” Utilizing the beautiful porches in our area, she offered to take safe, outside family porch photos in exchange for donations to Raleigh Rescue Mission and another local non-profit. Her idea was a hit.

Cassie grew up in Hickory and got into photography in high school. Her passion for celebrating people through photography grew while attending college at Appalachian State. She’s built a thriving photography business, Photos by Cassie, specializing in weddings. She and her husband moved to Raleigh about a year ago, and she found out about Raleigh Rescue Mission through Vintage Church, located just down the street from the Mission.

With her first fundraising attempt so successful, Cassie plans to continue them going forward. We are grateful to Cassie and praise God for her. If you’d like to start your own fundraiser for Raleigh Rescue Mission, it’s fun and easy! Learn more here.
