The New Life Plan is Raleigh Rescue Mission’s comprehensive plan to guide our clients through a 6-phase process that assists them in moving from instability and homelessness to stability and eventually homeownership.
The Plan addresses the needs of our men, women and children by first providing basic needs such as food, clothing and hope, then moving through a series of services that include mental and physical health assessments, counseling, tutoring for the children, and vocational training. These intensive services are all part of Phases 1 and 2.
In Phases 3 and 4, adult clients begin job preparation and skills training to gain employment, widen their employment options by purchasing a car, and work with financial mentors to start saving money and staying accountable to a realistic budget that allows them to leave the transitional housing provided by the Mission.
Phases 5 and 6 make up the final stages where clients are able to move into apartment housing and build up credit history that can lead to permanent housing and home ownership. Our Client Support Specialists and other partners continue to offer assistance and encouragement for a year or more following completion of the Plan.
Throughout the process, clients are offered spiritual counseling, prayer and the opportunity to attend worship services. The Plan provides the services, resources and partnerships so that our clients can make lasting changes that will lead to their ability to be self-sufficient.
