Education for Transformation

August 27, 2021

It’s back to school time for a lot of kids on the traditional school calendar and this year is especially challenging. Returning to school can be an emotional experience, especially if you’re a child experiencing homelessness. Although many of the children under our care attend school year-round, they are now going to school in-person, moving to new grade levels in new places with different teaching styles and formats. It can be intimidating for any child.

Thanks to our supporters and partners, we were able to ensure a fun-filled summer for our children and their parents to remember! Last week, for example, the Child Development Center staff and children went to Stars and Strikes Entertainment Center for dinner and bowling. The kids had a blast competing with one another for the most pins playing the indoor arcade games!

As summer comes to a close, our goal for the 2021 school year is to prepare these children to succeed in and stay in school after being restricted to virtual learning. With your help, our kids can return to school in-person feeling more secure and better prepared, with the tools they need to learn and grow.
