Children’s Ministry Update

December 18, 2019

Just like life with our own families during the holiday season, life is a whirlwind for the children at Raleigh Rescue Mission too! November and December have been full of fun activities. Thanks to our dedicated children’s staff, passionate volunteers and generous donors, clients and their children get to experience the joy and anticipation that goes along with the season of Jesus’s birth.

Marbles Kids Museum made it possible for all of the children to be treated to the newly-released Frozen 2 movie, complete with popcorn and drinks. PNC donated tickets to Disney on Ice, and Hope Reins hosted a fabulous Christmas Party for the kids. Our preschoolers enjoyed an art class led by volunteers, and the children painted with vegetables during Harvest Week. They made placemats for Thanksgiving and invited all of the Mission and special guests to a Harvest Party. With the help of their children, clients are decorating their room doors and making Christmas cookies during Unity Time. These are just a few of the events and activities taking place for our children and their parents, and we thank you for each time you make them feel special.

If you’re interested in providing some much-needed items for children’s ministry at the Mission, we need:

  • Gallon size containers of paint
  • Lego sets for school age children
  • Toddler size shoes (0 to 5T)

These items, along with items needed for the newly-renovated children’s area, can be purchased on our Children’s Program Amazon Wish List and shipped directly to the Mission.
