When you lead up a drive, all the goods you collect and any money you raise will help end homelessness right here in the Greater Raleigh area!


To meet the great need for food, clothing and other necessities, we rely on caring friends like you. Your group can join us in ministering to the homeless by hosting one of these fun drives:

Spring and Summer Drives

Summer Cool Down
Help quench thirst and prevent dehydration, heat exhaustion, sunburn and other dangers of Raleigh’s sweltering summer months by collecting:

  • Bottled water
  • Juice
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Sunscreen
  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Insect repellent
  • Flip-flops
  • Shade umbrellas
  • Mini Fans

Suit Up For Summer
Collect hot weather clothing:

  • Shorts
  • Swimsuits
  • Sunglasses

Fall and Winter Drives

Winter Warm-Up
Have you ever spent a raw winter day outside without a warm coat? The homeless experience this every day. You can wrap them in God’s love and help them survive by collecting new or gently used:

  • Coats
  • Toboggan-style hats
  • Thermal Gloves
  • Scarves
  • Thermal socks
  • Hand Warmers
  • Full Sized Blankets
  • Sleeping bags

Back to School in Style
Give homeless children confidence as they head back to the classroom in the fall by collecting:
  • New clothing
  • Backpacks
  • School supplies
  • Gift cards (Walmart, Target or office supply stores)

Stock the pantry
With 100 people staying with us each night, food is always needed at the Mission. You can make sure no one goes hungry by collecting such staples such as:
  • Rice
  • Sugar
  • Canned and fresh fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Pasta
  • Tomato sauce
  • Cooking oil
  • Cereal
  • Salt and pepper 

Commercial or restaurant sized welcomed and appreciated!

Any Season Drives

Spread the Word
Lives are changed through God’s Word. You can spread the Good News of Jesus Christ when you collect:

  • NIV Recovery Devotional Bibles
  • Journals
  • Women’s devotional Bibles
  • Children’s Bibles
  • Large print Bibles
  • Bible covers
  • Funds to purchase these items

Medicine Chest
Bring comfort to the homeless. Your over-the-counter medicines will be used to care for clients in our onsite medical clinic:

  • Pain relievers
  • Non-alcohol cold and flu medications
  • Benadryl
  • Cough drops
  • Sinus medicines
  • Antacids
  • Blood sugar test strips
  • Foot powder and lotion

The Great Scrub Up
It takes a lot of scrubbing to keep our big “house” sanitary! You can help by collecting:

  • Laundry detergent
  • Dryer sheets,
  • Dish soap
  • All-purpose cleaners
  • Vinyl gloves
  • Deodorizer spray
  • Hand soap
  • Bleach and other housekeeping supplies

Freshen Up
Collect Personal Items. When a homeless man, woman or family comes to the Mission, they often possess little more than the clothing they are wearing. Hygiene items you collect will help people stay healthy and clean each day. Travel-sized items needed are:

  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Body wash
  • Lotions
  • Baby wipes
  • Toothbrushes
  • Disposable razors
  • Shaving cream

Cozy Closet Campaign
Collect bedding. With 105 beds at the Mission, we are constantly in need of fresh bedding and towels. You can give people comfort and a good night’s rest by collecting new:

  • Extra long twin size sheet sets
    (white preferred)
  • Standard sized pillows
  • Blankets
  • Wash Cloths
  • Bath Towels

Snack Attack
We always have a great need for healthy, pre-packaged snacks for the children at the Mission and in our preschool. Some favorites include:

  • Applesauce cups
  • Pudding cups
  • String cheese
  • Sliced apple snack packs
  • Baby carrots
  • Chewy granola bars
  • Animal-shaped cookies
  • Goldfish crackers
  • Juice boxes

Bare Necessities
Fresh clothes are essential for the homeless men, women and children coming in our doors. Many haven’t had the opportunity to change in a while. You can help by collecting:

  • New packaged socks
  • Underwear
  • Bras
  • T-shirts

Paper Chase
We use lots of paper each day at the Mission! Help keep supplies from running short by collecting:

  • Toilet paper
  • Facial tissue
  • Paper towels
  • Dinner napkins
  • Copy paper
  • Craft paper for children in our care

Make it a Home
Collect items to make a client’s new house or apartment feel like a home.  So often our clients have had to give up all of their personal belongings when they were on the streets. When they transition from the Mission into their new residence, they don’t have items to make their new place feel like a home. You can help by collecting:

  • Picture frames
  • Wall hangings
  • Welcome mats
  • Candles
  • Silk flower arrangements
  • Door wreath

Holiday Drives

Thanks for Giving Holiday Food Drive
No one should go hungry on Thanksgiving and Christmas! Collect food that will be used to serve hot holiday meals at the Mission, or to be delivered to needy neighbors through our Gobbles to Go outreach. You can help by collecting:

  • Stuffing mix
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Green beans
  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Pumpkin pies
  • Gravy mix

Groceries to Go Holiday Food Drive
Help us provide a bag of groceries this Thanksgiving and Christmas to our neighbors in need! Collect grocery items that will be delivered to needy neighbors through our Gobbles to Go outreach. You can help by collecting:

  • 3 cans tuna or chicken
  • 2 cans Progresso or Healthy Request soup
  • 2 cans beef stew or chili
  • 1 box of instant oatmeal (usually 10 packets) – variety pack
  • 1 jar of peanut butter
  • 1 box of crackers
  • 1 jar of instant coffee, or box of individual packets

Cost to fill one bag: approximately $30.
