Luisa came to Raleigh Rescue Mission to create a better life for herself and her young son, Jamarii, after leaving a domestic situation. Naturally a reserved person, Luisa became more confident and learned to speak up as she progressed through the New Life Plan. She earned her driver’s license for the first time and was hired after graduating from Jobs for Life. Luisa bought a car, and she and Jamarii now live in their own apartment in Raleigh. Looking forward, Luisa wants to get her GED, ultimately going to college and getting a degree in social work, a passion spurred on by her experience in foster care. Luisa’s faith in God has grown, too, continuing to do daily devotions, praying, and thanking God for His presence.
