Lynn was taught early on that everyone doesn’t start out with the same supportive family, plenty to eat, and nice home that she had. She was shaped by a backdrop of racial unrest, divisiveness and fear when public schools were integrated in her small town. She’s always had a desire to show people that they are valued and valuable, which probably led her to a career in human resources.
After attending NC State and working for many years at an HR consulting company, God led Lynn to Raleigh Rescue Mission, where she’s encouraged to use her compassion for others to help both team members and clients grow in their professional and personal lives.
Lynn and her husband love to travel and ballroom dance, and she adores being “G Ma” to her grandchildren and “Mom” to her two sons. She is an active member of Macedonia UMC and several other faith-based groups. She’d like to spend more time on her front porch one day, but right now God has other plans.
