Medical Respite Services
Raleigh Rescue Mission offers Medical Respite Services for medically fragile homeless men and women who need consistent medical care but are not ill enough to require hospitalization. These clients are discharged and referred to us by local hospitals and clinics.
While staying with us our clients receive shelter, case management, medical oversight and care for acute medical conditions. As with all of our programs, we also provide Christ-centered mentoring, counseling, discipleship, substance abuse recovery and job-preparation training.
Raleigh Rescue Mission is the only facility in North Carolina that offers all of these services under one roof. This is important because without this kind of help, homeless people who don’t have the ability to care for themselves often end up on the street or back in the hospital, sicker than before, costing all of us more tax dollars.
If you are a medical professional or social worker who would like refer a client to our Medical Respite Services, please fax a Medical Respite Referral form to 919.341.5680 contact Medical Director, Jane Smith, at 919.828.9014, Ext. 112, janes [at] raleighrescue [dot] org.
