Thousands Enjoy Day of Fun at the Downtown Raleigh Festival of Hope
We had a great turn out at last Saturday's Downtown Raleigh Festival of Hope with an estimated 2,000 people in attendance. Families enjoyed a day of free fun and food with 1,600 bbq sandwiches, 2,400 hot dogs and popcorn, snow cones and more! One local barbecue restaurant took home several awards in our barbecue contest. McCall's BBQ & Seafood took home the first place award in our Big Barbecue Showdown and also won the Crowd Pleaser contest. Folks donated 1,188 paper products to help build a Paper Palace during the event. Thanks to everyone that came out and participated in the fun, took a tour, volunteered and donated to make this event possible. A special thanks to our community for helping us offer hope to the homeless and poor for more than 50 years!
