More than 2,800 folks joined us at the Downtown Raleigh Festival of Hope on May 1st for a day of fun, live music, food, games, giant inflatables, face painting and our 6th Annual Big Barbecue Showdown. Folks put away 2,300 hot dogs and 300 pounds of barbecue! Four Season's Catering took home first place in the Big Barbecue Showdown and McCall's BBQ & Seafood came in second winning the "So Good it Hurts" award. The crowd helped judge the Crowd Pleaser contest and voted Barbecue Lodge as the best with Clyde Cooper's Barbecue & Catering a close second. The festival was a day of fun for everybody and gave folks the chance to take a tour and learn more about the Mission and how we help the homeless. Thanks to all the volunteers and donors that helped make the event a success and a special thanks to our community for their support!
