The Mission began serving the poor and homeless on November 1, 1961 when we housed two men in the basement of the boarding house located at 314 E. Hargett Street. The needs of Raleigh's homeless and poor have changed over the years and the Mission has grown and adapted to meet those changing needs. One thing that hasn't changed over the past fifty years is Raleigh Rescue Mission's commitment to sharing God's love with the the poor and homeless. Come help the Mission celebrate all that God has done for the us and the homeless in our area over the past fifty years. You are invited to join us at our Open House Celebration on Sunday, October 30 from 2pm-4pm and join us at our virtual event, A Time of Thanksgiving and Prayer, on November 1.
