Volunteers from Christ Episcopal Church spent Saturday morning renovating the home of Jerry, a Raleigh Rescue Mission client. Jerry inherited the home after his mother passed away a few years ago. He lived in the home without electricity or water for several months before coming to the Mission. Jerry has been at the Mission for over a year working on his physical, emotional and spiritual recovery and is ready to start his new life back in his home. But, before that can happen, the home needs a new life of it's own! The house is not livable under the current conditions and volunteers are helping fix the home so Jerry can move back in later this summer. The outreach group from Christ Episcopal Church helped clean, remove carpet, fixed holes in the ceiling and did yard work. Home renovations will continue in July with the help of Summit Church.
