The Point-In-Time Count is a count of the number of homeless individuals on a given night and this count takes place this week in Wake County. The Point-In-Time count occurs annually and helps provide a snapshot of who experiences homelessness throughout the year. This count is important because it provides reliable statistics for the number of homeless individuals and families in our county and in the country. The Point-In-Time count is conducted on the same day in counties around the nation and is a requirement of communities applying for HUD Continuum of Care funding to serve the homeless.
