Church & Community Outreach

“…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
– Matthew 25:40

Raleigh Rescue Mission is an extension of the church community, linking the body of Christ with those who are hurting, just as Matthew 25:40 describes.

For over 45 years, local churches have been valued partners in our ministry. We invite your church to come alongside Raleigh Rescue Mission to serve the disadvantaged, the homeless, the addicted and lost, by sharing the Gospel through acts of compassion.

To get your church or small group engaged in our ministry, contact Church and Community Outreach Director, Karen Hoffman at 919.828.9014, Ext. 132 or karenh [at] raleighrescue [dot] org.

Outreach Opportunities:

Downtown Raleigh Festival of Hope  Groups of volunteers are needed to help with Raleigh Rescue Mission's Downtown Raleigh Festival of Hope on Saturday, May 1.  Click here for more information on how your group can help!

Urban Mission Projects (UMP)
—Put your faith into action by ministering to the homeless one-on-one through an UMP. Your church or small group will spend a day serving homeless men, women and children and learn more about homelessness through this unique, hands-on ministry. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

Serve. UMP volunteers bring and distribute bottled water, snacks or bagged lunches, hot chocolate or blankets to the homeless in Moore Square Park.

Learn. Before you serve, you’ll get an inside look at Raleigh Rescue Mission, where we’ll share with you the facts about homelessness in our area.

Reflect. Your project will include time for you to discuss all you’ve learned and experienced, as well as have the opportunity to pray for everyone you’ve met.

Operation Restoration—Your group can help restore a life by restoring a home! Professional and novice volunteers are needed to assist with the home repairs and clean up. Operation Restoration gives your group the opportunity to minister to folks in need in our community while bringing new life to a home . . . and a homeowner.

Host a drive—Help Raleigh Rescue Mission meet the great demand for food, hygiene products, clothing and other necessities by hosting a drive.

Group Volunteer Opportunities—There are many ways your group can help the homeless. Check out our group volunteer opportunities.

Invite a Speaker—We love to share stories about God’s work at Raleigh Rescue Mission. Schedule a speaker to talk to your group.

Got a great idea? —Tell us how you want to minister to the homeless!  Call us at 919.828.9014, Ext. 132 so we can discuss a partnership.
