Larry C. Strickland

Larry Strickland has worked for the City of Raleigh for over 33 years and currently is the Director of the Raleigh Inspections Department. He is responsible for enforcement of the land use regulations and building and minimum housing codes, as well as plans review for permitting. He previously worked in the Raleigh Parks and Recreation and the Raleigh Planning Departments. Since 1981, he’s worked in the Raleigh Inspections Department, assuming ever greater responsibilities.

Larry has lived in Raleigh nearly all his life, having seen Raleigh grow from a small southern town to a major metropolitan city. His interests include boating, fishing at the NC coast and photography. He enjoys biking and spending time working in his yard. He has been married to his wife for 26 years and has two daughters, both of whom are in college.

Larry is serving as a RRM Board Member because it’s an opportunity to give back to our community, he has a passion for what RRM does and it’s a personal blessing. He believes that as the Bible says, we should show the real, authentic love and the hospitality of our Lord Jesus Christ through helping others.
