Kathryn’s dream is that one day ALL children will have access to the best developmental, emotional, and educational care possible, regardless of reasons that currently divide our society. After teaching in WCPSS for 5 years where she realized that her students’ needs became greater and greater each year, her passions grew. It was during her last year as a teacher that Kathryn began thinking through a mission statement for her life: “For all people to know their worth and potential in Jesus, beginning with children, which will make this world a more caring, beautiful, and connected community.” She is living out this dream here by empowering Moms and children at RRM!

Kathryn follows Jesus because He was a man who served and led a community with surprising love by calling out all forms of injustice and creating a path for restoration. She has so many people in her life to thank for teaching her about this. She has worked to provide justice for children facing poverty in a variety of ways, including her role as a camp counselor in Eastern NC where she grew up, teaching in a classroom in WCPSS, and now in her current role as Director of Children’s Advocacy at Raleigh Rescue Mission.

Outside of the office, you can find Kathryn singing at Church on Morgan, searching for the best tacos in town with friends and family, or planning her next traveling adventure.
